The Center for Family Violence Prevention held the First Annual Domestic Violence Impact Luncheon to October 11, 2018, at the Greenville Convention Center.

“Every one of us knows someone who has been impacted by domestic violence,” says luncheon coordinator Donna Raynor. “The purpose of this event is to raise awareness about the issue and to also raise funds to help the Center for Family Violence Prevention continue to serve those affected by violence in their personal relationships.”

Keynote speakers for the luncheon were Ron and Jan Kimble, whose beautiful daughter Jamie was in a tumultuous seven-year relationship that tragically ended when she was murdered by her ex-boyfriend. Ron and Jan have strong ties to the Greenville community, where he served as City Manager for 10 years, she was an administrator at then-Pitt County Memorial Hospital (now Vidant), and Jamie graduated from Rose High School.

Hearing how domestic violence impacted their lives is a stark reminder that no family is immune to this type of violence.

Your response to the First Annual Domestic Violence Impact Luncheon made the event an overwhelming success, and we thank you!

Our original goals were to get 250 attendees and to raise $25,000. We far exceeded those goals! Total attendance was 580 people, and with your help, we received over $85,000!

We are so grateful for our wonderful sponsors and our great friends and supporters who stepped up to help us make a difference in breaking cycles and building lives. The proceeds of the luncheon will allow the Center for Family Violence Prevention to continue to focus on education, awareness, healthy relationships, violence prevention, and service to victims.
