2019 Impact Luncheon
The Center for Family Violence Prevention announces the Second Annual Domestic Violence Impact Luncheon to be held on Thursday, September 26, 2019, at the Greenville Convention Center.
The keynote speaker will be Allen Thomas Jr., who was a student at East Carolina University when he received the call that his mother had been killed by his father. Allen will share the emotional and powerful story of his experience with domestic violence.
“Every one of us knows someone who has been impacted by domestic violence,” says luncheon coordinator Donna Raynor. “And as hard as it is, we have to talk about it. For acknowledging and understanding abusive behaviors is critical to preventing domestic violence and to helping those who have been subjected to it.”
The Center for Family Violence Prevention is working every day on education, awareness, and prevention of domestic violence so no other family has to experience the tragic consequences. We help people understand how to build healthy relationships and recognize warning signs of abuse in their own relationships and those of their friends and family.
The Domestic Violence Impact Luncheon raises awareness about the issue and also raises funds to help the Center for Family Violence Prevention continue their work to stop domestic violence before it begins and to serve those affected by violence in their personal relationships.
