Help a Family in Need this Holiday Season
The winter holiday season is an especially difficult time for many families living in poverty, as parents feel pressure to create a festive atmosphere while still struggling to meet basic needs. Please help us make the holiday season special for families fleeing domestic violence.
Adopt a real family.
Generous community members and organizations adopt many of the Center for Family Violence Prevention’s families that are struggling to make ends meet during the holiday season. These are families that have left our shelter in the last year, used our court advocacy services or have been attending counseling or our support groups. Each family in need fills out an application that includes a wish list for each member of the family. Adopters provide each item on the wish list and help make their holidays warm and festive. Over 40 families are adopted each year!
Please contact our main office if you are interested in adopting a family this year to make the holidays a special time for those that can barely look forward to the next day. Contact Chelsey Waters, LAP Supervisor, at (252) 758-4400 ext. 205 or Catonnia Pitt, Safe House Manager, at (252) 752-1092.
Thank you all for your continued support!
